Halloween Weekend

So this weekend Olena and I enjoyed some Halloween festivities.  With the new fall of snow it felt more like we should be getting ready for Christmas instead but we had a great time.  Friday night we started off by carving some pumpkins.  These pumpkins were grown by Steve and Olena in their amazing garden this year.  Here are the results...

Saturday night we headed to a Halloween social for a lady that Olena works with.  Olena and I decided to go as flappers and surprisingly the costume ended up being really easy to find.  Olena saw the dresses at Giant Tiger and they were perfect.  The headbands we found right away at Clair's and the Boa's were the last two they had at Dollarama. The next day I headed to Ardene's and they had just gotten the gloves in and they were buy one get one half off and they had two feather hair clips left that were just perfect as well.  The cigarette thing came from drinking straws from Dollarama that we stuck a white pencil crayon in the end and coloured the tip black.  It was such an easy and comfortable costume and I think we looked pretty good.

Buzz and Boomer also made a surprise visit for the "First Dance" which the bride and groom made everyone get up and dance for as well.  The groom's men all dressed up as LMFAO and they played one of their songs for this dance.  It was a really cute idea.  You can see the groom dressed up behind us in the previous picture.

And of course Olena and I didn't go home empty handed.  We tend to have pretty good luck when it comes to winning social prizes.  This was my half of the social prize we won:
